Compress Video Online
Reduce video file size and prepare upload-ready files for your platform. FFmpeg runs in WebAssembly right in this page — your video is never uploaded to a server.
How to compress a video
- Choose the platform you're posting to (or Custom quality).
- Select or drop your video (MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, MKV, 3GP...).
- We analyze duration, resolution and bitrate, then encode a lean H.264 MP4.
- Download your optimized video.

What happens to your video
The first compression engine load downloads FFmpeg WebAssembly (~32 MB, cached afterwards). After that, your file is analyzed in-place. We downscale only if your video exceeds the platform's recommended resolution, cap FPS where it adds nothing, and encode with quality-based CRF. If your file is already efficient, we tell you — no forced re-encoding.
FAQ
Which formats can I compress?
MP4, MOV, WebM, M4V, AVI, MKV, 3GP, WMV, FLV and more. Output is always H.264 MP4.
Is a large video safe to process?
Processing uses your device's CPU and memory. For files over 500 MB we warn you first. Keep the tab open until the progress bar finishes.
Do you upload my video?
No. FFmpeg runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly. There is no backend, no storage, no database.
